Commissions
Yes, I now take commissions. Details follow, and will be updated now and then.
Prices
Prices are negotiable according to what sort of budget you have. My pricing schedule depends enormously on what kind of work you're after - a simple character portrait is going to cost less than a complex combat or orgy scene, for example.
I hope to have exact examples up soon for each.
Character Portraits (example here)
A character portrait is a very simple picture with a stock background. It normally includes one figure with or without clothing and sometimes has a second image in the background. There is no scenery and a minimum of props. A second character can be included (example here) for higher cost.
Prices vary from $25 (unclothed, single figure) to $40 (clothed, single figure, 'ghost' pose included). Add $15 for a second character.
Character Studies (example here)
A more complex form of character portrait, a character study has one main figure and then several smaller versions around it. Its purpose is to show off many different expressions of the character, broadening the feel of who the character is. Plus it looks better.
Price: $45 (one main figure, four smaller figures, four expression heads, one outfit, one simple scenery item). Alternatively you can choose to have your character study feature three smaller figures (instead of four) and six expression heads (instead of four) for the same cost
Add $10 for each extra outfit. I usually throw simple props (staves, books, dildos) in for free, within reason.
Scenes (example here)
Take a character (or more than one). Add scenery. Make it meaningful. That's a scene. Scenes bring characters to life by placing them within their environment and having them interact with it (and, if there's more than one, each other). Scenes cost more because there's a lot more work involved, but they tend to be very well worth it.
Prices start from $45 (single figure, outfit, simple scenery). Add $15 for each additional figure (outfit included; $10 if naked).
Scene Series (examples here, here, here and here)
A scene series is just a bunch of sequential scenes. As the majority of the work is done in the first scene and figures are then re-posed for latter ones the price for ten individual, unrelated scenes is much higher than ten scenes in a sequence. Scene series art always takes place within the same scenery.
Prices: The first picture in a scene series is calculated as if it were a normal scene. Each additional scene is $10. Additional characters are $10 (naked) or $15 (clothed), whenever they enter the series, and no additional cost after.
Animation
I don't do animation for commission at the moment (sorry) but this may open up at a later date.
Content
There is not too much I won't render, really. I'm happy to render non-erotic or erotic scenes. Of the erotic nature I'm entirely willing to render solo (eg. masturbation and/or stripping), straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender interactions (White Cairn Designs is, and will remain, extremely LGBT-friendly). Scenes involving sexual toys are no problem. I can render combat scenes without an issue, though there is a limit to the bloodiness of work.
I won't render scenes containing child pornography or 'lolicon' (scenes portraying girls who are, or look, prepubescent), so don't ask. Even my shorter figures (like gnomes) are recognisably mature individuals for their species. This doesn't mean I won't render women who have smaller (or flat) busts, but it does mean that (for example) petite women who are also short and youthful-looking are out of my comfort zone. I also don't render scat or watersports (purely personal preference - it's hard to render a scene that makes you want to barf constantly). Blatant rape scenes are also something I don't do. Rape-play is a different matter but will be labelled as such, and the faces on the characters won't look as scared as they could.
I don't do necrophilia, but I don't classify undead as 'dead' for this purpose. However sexual scenes involving obviously undead characters (such as Forsaken from WoW) will cost more because they're a lot harder to create convincingly.
The Process
I pride myself in creating unique and interesting characters and, for this reason, I strive to avoid using the exact same figure for more than one rendered character. Some characters will look extremely similar, of course, but if I do a render for you I want the character to be yours, not a cookie-cutter clone that I'll use for a dozen other people's.
Once you've contacted me and told me what sort of scene you want, I'll respond as swiftly as possible telling you how possible it is (for me) and how long it's likely to take. We'll also discuss price at that point. If you want to pay less than the usual rate your art will turn out less complex; if you want extra detail or particularly good renders the price may (according to exact composition) be a little higher.
With the basic idea and price range worked out I'll request as much detail about the scene as you can possibly give me. That includes minutiae such as face shapes, skin tones, body shapes, positioning, hair colour, an overall idea of the characters' personalities, and so on. The more detail you give me the better I can work so it's worth taking the time.
Soon after I'll send you some rough scenes, watermarked and quite basic. If you like what you're seeing I'll ask for half the commission fee at that point. If I abandon the project (extremely unlikely) you get that money back; if you withdraw the commission after that point you get half of that back (eg. a $100 commission, I'll ask for $50 at that point, then if I can't continue it you get the full $50 back, but if you withdraw the commission I return $25). About the only reason I'd abandon a project at that point is due to personal emergency; even so I'll always give an alternate time frame if I'm going to be delayed in finishing your work.
When the project is finished you get good copies at half-size with watermarks on. If you like the roughs then I'll ask for the rest of the payment and when I receive it I send you clean, unmarked full-size pictures. I never release commissioned art without the client's permission.
Unpaid Works
I rarely do unpaid works. I sometimes do them for extremely close friends, but not often. I sometimes do art swaps.
I do take suggestions as to what I might include in my works but I don't base these off people's characters. 'Moar draenei' is a fine suggestion, as is 'less draenei'. If you suggest I do a picture of two characters with extremely specific features then no, sorry, not happening.
