White Cairn Designs is a one-person endeavour, a place to show off my renderwork and explain a little about the meaning (or at least motivation) behind them.
What will I find here?
Most of the work you'll find here will be erotic (or at least quasi-erotic) character studies, portraits and scenes rendered in Daz Studio 3. I also put up vague concepts, illustrations that friends have allowed me to release and other... stuff like that.
Most of it is based firmly around the World of Warcraft MMO by Blizzard Entertainment; the concepts and designs, however, are mine. Models used are commercially available through Daz3D, Renderosity and similar sites.
How do you do it? What's your modus operandi?
I use very, very little postwork of any kind. I don't fix up shadows, light or 'pokethrough' (bits of the model's body poking through the clothing in places due to an ill fit or incompatible poses) in any way; the only postwork I do is to add the occasional watermark and maybe a decorative frame.
The majority of the works released here have a simple, generic background I fashioned for White Cairn Designs. This, and the text thereon, is not actually put on during postwork. Fo' srs. Instead it's fashioned prior to the scene and then loaded into Daz Studio 3 as the scene's backdrop, where it sits happily without having any impact on lighting, shadows or composition. Those backgrounds are prework, if you like.
Is there any more?
Yes! I have a great deal more work than the stuff put up here. Some of it isn't suitable for public viewing (due to seriously crappy quality or being thoroughly unfinished), some of it involves characters I've decided not to release pictures of (or don't have their owners' permission).
